About MENA Health Policy Forum

Who We Are

The MENA Health Policy Forum is a regional, independent platform dedicated to advancing the development and implementation of health policy across the Middle East and North Africa. The Forum is committed to strengthening health systems by fostering collaboration, promoting constructive dialogue, and enabling the systematic exchange of knowledge and evidence.

It serves as a convening space for a diverse community of stakeholders, including policymakers, civil society organizations, academics, researchers, healthcare practitioners, and community representatives. By bringing together these complementary perspectives, the Forum seeks to bridge gaps between research, policy, and practice, and to support more coherent and coordinated approaches to addressing complex health challenges in the region.

Through its work, the Forum places strong emphasis on the use of evidence-informed approaches to decision-making. It aims to contribute to the development of health policies that are not only technically sound, but also contextually relevant, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of populations across the MENA region.

Mission

The mission of the MENA Health Policy Forum is to strengthen health policy across the Middle East and North Africa by fostering inclusive engagement among key stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, practitioners, development partners, and communities.

The Forum is dedicated to promoting structured dialogue, facilitating the generation and dissemination of high-quality evidence, and encouraging collaboration across disciplines and sectors. Through these efforts, it seeks to enhance the capacity of stakeholders to develop and implement policies that are grounded in robust evidence and aligned with regional priorities.

In doing so, the Forum supports the formulation of practical, scalable, and impactful policy solutions aimed at improving health system performance and advancing equitable health outcomes across the region.

Vision

The MENA Health Policy Forum envisions a Middle East and North Africa region in which all individuals have access to inclusive, resilient, and well-functioning health systems that deliver high-quality, equitable, and people-centred care.

Within this vision, health systems are characterized by their ability to respond effectively to population needs, adapt to emerging challenges, and ensure fairness in access and outcomes. The Forum aspires to contribute to a future in which evidence-based policy-making is firmly embedded in decision-making processes, and where health systems consistently promote the well-being, dignity, and security of all people across the region.
