The MENA Health Policy Forum welcomes applications for membership from scholars, researchers, practitioners, and professionals across a wide range of disciplines who are committed to advancing evidence-informed health policy and strengthening health systems throughout the Middle East and North Africa region.

Through its mission, the Forum seeks to serve as a leading regional platform for health policy research, dialogue, collaboration, and evidence-based policymaking related to health and healthcare systems in the MENA region. By bringing together individuals with diverse expertise and experience, the Forum aims to foster a dynamic and collaborative community dedicated to addressing regional health policy challenges and advancing sustainable, equitable, and effective health systems.

The continued growth and impact of the Forum depend on the active engagement and contributions of its members. Through participation in the Forum’s activities, members contribute to strengthening regional knowledge exchange, supporting policy dialogue, and advancing research and practice in health policy and systems development.

Selection Criteria for Membership

New members are selected with the objective of strengthening the Forum’s ability to fulfill its mission and strategic objectives. In evaluating applications, the Forum seeks candidates who demonstrate:

• Expertise in fields relevant to health policy and health systems, including health management and planning, economics, statistics, public health, sociology of medicine, political economy, and related disciplines;
• Experience working on health policy issues at the national, regional, and/or international levels;
• Commitment to active participation in Forum activities and engagement in addressing health policy challenges in the region;
• A demonstrated interest in the objectives and mission of the Forum, including a connection to the region through residence, professional engagement, nationality, or other relevant experience.

Members are expected to actively contribute to the work and activities of the Forum through participation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Membership Review and Selection Process

Candidates for membership must be nominated either by at least two existing members of the Forum or by the Advisory Committee.

Applications are reviewed based on recommendations provided by Forum members, as well as the candidate’s curriculum vitae, publications, professional qualifications, and other supporting information submitted for consideration.The Advisory Committee reviews all applications in accordance with the established membership criteria and submits its recommendations to the Board of Trustees, which is responsible for the election and approval of members.

Membership is subject to renewal every five years. Renewal follows the same review process applied to new applicants, with the exception that nomination is considered implicit for existing members.

The Forum welcomes applications from individuals who are able to contribute meaningfully to the achievement of its mission and objectives. Interested applicants are invited to complete and submit the Membership Application Form through the website.

Please note that membership applications are reviewed periodically during meetings of the Board of Trustees, and applicants will be notified once the review process has been completed.

Membership in the MENA Health Policy Forum offers an opportunity to join a regional network of professionals and institutions dedicated to advancing evidence-based health policies and strengthening health systems across the MENA region.

The Forum encourages individuals from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise to apply and contribute to building a vibrant, collaborative, and impactful regional platform for health policy dialogue and research.

Membership Benefits

Members of the Forum enjoy a range of professional and institutional benefits, including the right to:

• Participate in activities, meetings, conferences, and initiatives organized by the Forum;
• Receive information and updates regarding Forum activities and programs;
• Attend the Annual General Meeting and any extraordinary General Meetings of the Forum;
• Vote during General Meetings in accordance with the Forum’s governance procedures;
• Submit papers and research for presentation at Forum events or for publication through the Forum, subject to applicable quality assurance and review procedures;
• Access Forum publications and materials in accordance with policies and fees determined by the Board of Trustees.
