Recent reports from the World Health Organization confirm multiple attacks on healthcare facilities in Iran and Lebanon amid ongoing regional conflict. These incidents highlight the growing vulnerability of health infrastructure in fragile and conflict-affected settings. According to the World Health Organization, at least 18 healthcare facilities in Iran have been affected since the start of recent hostilities, resulting in the deaths of several health workers. In Lebanon, 25 attacks on healthcare facilities have been reported, causing 16 deaths and 29 injuries and further disrupting essential health services. The attacks have also triggered large-scale displacement, with hundreds of thousands of people forced to relocate, placing additional pressure on already strained health systems. Displacement and overcrowded living conditions increase the risk of infectious disease outbreaks and further complicate humanitarian response efforts.
