Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar briefed ambassadors designate on Egypt’s healthcare achievements, highlighting the country’s remarkable progress in building one of the region’s most expansive health coverage systems.

Universal Health Insurance System
The system now covers 69.5 million beneficiaries, backed by:
1,839 hospitals
More than 694,000 healthcare workers nationwide

15 Presidential Health Initiatives
Cumulatively delivered more than 278.5 million services, including the internationally recognised 100 Million Healthy Lives campaign.

State-Funded Treatment Programme
Progress has been made to eliminate surgical waiting lists, benefiting 3.3 million citizens.

The briefing reflects Egypt’s growing use of health diplomacy as a tool to project its development achievements on the international stage.
