Al-Shifa Hospital is facing a severe shortage of sodium bicarbonate, directly affecting haemodialysis services for approximately 240 patients with end-stage kidney disease. About 45-50% of dialysis machines are currently out of service, forcing emergency measures. More than 1.7 million people remain in active displacement sites across Gaza, with site management coverage limited to just 34% of locations.
